After an initial experience in December 2016, when the HES co-sponsored a session with ANPEC (Brazilian Association of Graduate Programs in Economics) at their conference in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, the Society created its new “Conference Sessions Program.” At that occasion, the HES contributed US$1500 to help cover the travel expenses for one HES scholar to present at that conference.

As part of an effort to improve our international presence and to reach new scholars interested in the history of economic thought, the HES would like to solicit similar proposals to co-sponsor sessions in events planned for the next 18 months ahead of the submission.

Proposals should include information on the conference, including location, dates, and estimated attendance, as well the topic of the session and a list of papers and presenters. Proposals should highlight the advantages to the HES for supporting the conference session.

Proposers must be members of the HES. In addition to their proposal, they should also submit confirmation from the conference that the HES will be listed in the program as a co-sponsor.

Funds are limited to US$1500. Proposals will be evaluated on a rolling basis every three months. Proposals that include additional financing may be viewed more favorably.

Proposals should be sent to Marianne Johnson, HES Secretary (johnsonm <AT> uwosh <DOT> edu).
